If you are interested in entering you need to register on this page. There is a £1 entrance fee per ladder for the whole academic year.

The ladders are mixed and divided into two, for different standards of play. The upper ladder is for team players and advanced players, while the lower ladder is for intermediate and beginner players. You select which ladder you wish to join when signing up. Starting positions are random when the ladder opens to encourage as much play as possible. If you sign up after the ladder is open you will be added at a random position in the bottom half of the ladder. If you find you are unlucky enough to be near the very bottom of the ladder don't worry! The ladder has been designed to allow people futher down to challenge more positions ahead enabling bigger jumps up the ladder.

If you decide you don't want to take part in the ladder anymore you can retire. This, however, is irreversible and means that you cannot rejoin the ladder for this year unless you ask really nicely.
